Workshop: Beginners Workshop
You can choose to make either of the make-up / bathroom bags or a series of smaller useful items that help teach you the basics of leather crafting. These bags are time consuming with a lot of hole punching and stitching.

Date: 23rd May 2021
Time: Arrive 8.30 am ready for an 9am start. Finish around 5.00 pm.
Tutor: Janelle Hampton
Level: Beginner to Advanced. All welcome! No experience is required.
Cost: Members: $40 per day; Non-Members: $50 per day (Kit Cost: Varies)
Kit Options:
Men’s dopp / bathroom bag – $50
Includes leather, needles, thread, zip
Hole punch and copyrighted pattern which includes two sizes . The smaller one that we will be making and a larger version plus detailed graphs of designers that can be added to your bag.

Make-up bag – $55
Includes leather, needles, thread, zip.
Hole punch and a copyrighted pattern which includes the make-up bag and a full size handbag in the same style.

Basics with leather – $40
Several kits for smaller items eg. Valet tray, coffee cup sleeve, keyrings, pincushion, coin purse etc.
If you would like to come and complete your projects from the last workshop I will organise some new items for you so that you can continue your leather crafting journey.

 

COVID: Due to Covid restrictions for social distancing the workshop has been designed so that there will be minimal close contact in the teaching process while still allowing you to learn and create some decorative and useful items. Antibacterial wipes will be supplied so that all shared items can be wiped down after using. The Epping Center has implemented covid policies to ensure our safety, and you will be sent and email prior to attending .We will supply all sanitising items for your use .

Workshop Options: Key cases, key rings, cup and drink holders, valet tray, wrist cuffs, coin purses, earrings, card wallet holder, needle/ pin cushion, tape measure cover etc. These items can be made to suit both genders. They can be dyed, painted or decorated using stamping, embossing, appliqué or adding some simple flowers . If you are experienced you can add some carving.

Tools required for the project: 

  • Craft mat
  • Cutting knife / scalpel
  • Ruler
  • Plus bring these if you have them: Mallet, swivel knife and tools.

Workshop Lunch: You will need to bring your own morning / afternoon tea and lunch. Hot water is available but due to covid we no longer have use of the fridge.

Booking Cut-Off Date: The cut-off date for booking this class is 21st May 2021. This will allow Janelle to purchase the necessary materials for the class.
