Janelle has won many awards for her leathercraft at the RAS, the Hawkesbury Show and the Dobell Arts and Craft Festival in the Central Coast and won 1st Prize last year. Janelle has a wealth of knowledge to pass onto students and her classes are fun to attend and should not be missed.
The class will be a two day workshop.
Janelle will be teaching how to set a stone into leather.
Janelle will show everyone how you can inset a stone into leather. The stones can be set into anything e.g. keyring, neckpiece, cuff, small folders, card holder, bookmark, knife sheath and anything you desire once you have learnt the technique.
Once you have chosen what particular item in leather you want to make you will be cutting the leather out, dying the leather and then inserting the stone and then constructing your item. You will be able to make a couple of items, think about what you want to make and come and have some fun and use your creative imagination to make a wonderful piece of art.
As can be seen from the pictures there is a lot of variety you can choose from and extending your ability to create your own personalised item.
